Classroom Guide
Designed to work as an enrichment tool, this program provides educators the opportunity to expand upon the many fascinating aspects of manufacturing the ultimate driving machine. This program has been developed with local school district leaders to offer high school teachers the chance to show how real world industrial examples relate to what is taught in math, science and technology classrooms.
These guides have been developed for use with the guided tour, virtual factory tour or in conjunction with a scheduled visit to the BMW Zentrum. While at the Zentrum, teachers and students will meet with a BMW Representative and discuss the manufacturing process and the important roles Math, Science and Technology play in the creation of BMW vehicles.
To best use these guides, the teacher should first familiarize him/her self with their layout and content. A brief historical look at BMW Manufacturing in South Carolina can be found at www.bmwusfactory.com and suggested classroom activities (to be completed following the visit) are included at the end of each guide. Upon arrival at the Zentrum, a 20-minute introductory video is available for viewing and provides a behind-the-scenes look into the factory.
